Our platform is designed for restaurants and shops of all sizes. This guide illustrates a common setup for restaurants.
An iPad running at least iOS version 9
An iPhone device running at least iOS version 9
An up-to-date browser, Chrome and Safari are preferred. Although the OrderMore Portal runs well on a tablet device, it is currently optimized for desktop use.
Most restaurants need at least one receipt printer. The OrderMore POS app supports the following printers:
- Star TSP 654 series
- Star SP 700 series
- Epson TM-T88V series
OrderMore supports any cash drawer that can be connected to either of these printers.
In order for the iPads and printers to work together you'll need to set-up a wireless network. If you want to provide internet to your customers, it is recommended to separate your OrderMore network from your Guest network. Most modern routers have the option to create two wireless networks, separating your guests from your business operations.
Tip: You can add as many iPads with the POS app in your network as you need?
At typical OrderMore setup would look as follows:
The restaurant in this example uses 3 iPads with OrderMore POS. The iPads are all on the Wifi network. The printers are connected through ethernet. The printers supported by OrderMore all have versions that either have an ethernet or wifi module. If you have a printer with a USB connection you can use an Apple Airport Express to connect the printer to the wifi network, or use a wireless print server to make your printer available to the network.
Tip: Ethernet based printers are preferred, especially in kitchen environments because of Wifi interference.
